IGT Consumables - Shelf Life
When consumables are past their shelf life, there may be a subtle,
slow change in the test results. However this may only become apparent
when replacement consumables are introduced and a noticeable step
change can be seen.
Please refer to the following guidelines on the shelf life of IGT
consumables:
Rubber covered printing discs
Rubber blanket
Use after fitting 6 - 12 months
Shelf life 1 - 3 years
Rubber - coated; non-coated; conventional; UV
Use after fitting 1 - 3 years
Shelf life 2 - 3 years
Top rollers and extra distribution
rollers
Top Rollers
Use after fitting 1 - 3 years
Shelf life 2 - 3 years
Extra Distribution Rollers
Use after fitting 2 - 3 years (replace with top rollers)
Shelf life 2 - 3 years
If the inking system is used extensively, it is recommended that
a replacement regime be established, to ensure an even distribution
of small changes in materials through the year. eg: one of the top
rollers + a distribution roller changed every 6 months or where
4 discs are used: change one disc every 3 months, or change two
discs every 6 months.
Do not change the discs in the same month as the top rollers.
Packings
Rubber

The maximum life can only be achieved if the product has been kept

away from heat sources and chemicals.
Cleaning agents and cleaning methods will influence the use life.
