The PERMETM W3/0120 Water Vapour Transmission Rate Tester uses an automated cup method for determining the water vapour transmission rate of barrier polymer & laminated films and breathable substrates used in the medical and construction industries.
12 independent chambers are available to test up to 12 different materials / test specimens simultaneously. The test conditions are selectable and the test data can be statistically grouped and stored. Historic stored data can be recalled & displayed.

Testing Principle
A test specimen is mounted in a test cup. A specific humidity difference is created between the two sides of the test specimen at a specific temperature. The water vapour permeates through the specimen from the inner, more humid side to the drier side.
By measuring the weight change of the cup due to the permeation of the water vapour out of the cup, the rate of transmission is determined.
