VAC-V2 PERME Gas Permeability Tester
Measures how gas permeable a membrane is. Capable of measuring the transmission rate of permanent gases, air, oxygen, nitrogen and carbon dioxide - particularly useful for the permeability of carbon dioxide. Three test chambers.
The PERMETM VAC-V2 measures the gas permeability of a membrane.
Capable of measuring the transmission rate permanent gases, air, oxygen, nitrogen and carbon dioxide and is particularly useful for the permeability of CO2.
The VAC-2 has three test chambers to ensure a quick test time, is very sensitive and highly linear, with a measuring range of 0.05 – 50,000 cm3/m2/day. Software calculates rate of transmission, solubility and diffusion coefficients.
Standards
Complies with: ISO 2556, ISO 15105-1, ASTM D1434, GB 1038, JIS K7126-A

Principle
A preconditioned test specimen is clamped between the upper chamber and the lower chamber of a test cell. A vacuum is applied to the low-pressure lower chamber and then to the whole system.
When the specified degree of vacuum is reached, the lower test chamber is shut off and test gas of a selected pressure is fed into the upper high pressure test chamber.
Ensuring that a constant differential pressure (adjustable) is maintained across the specimen, under the gradient of differential pressure the test gas permeates from the high-pressure side to the low-pressure side.
The pressure in the low-pressure side is monitored in real time and the rate of transmission is calculated.
