VAC-V1 Gas Permeability Tester
Measures the gas permeability of a membrane. Capable of measuring the transmission rate of permanent gases, air, oxygen, nitrogen and carbon dioxide. Particularly useful for the permeability of CO2. One test chamber.
The VAC-V1 measures the gas permeability of a membrane and is capable of measuring the transmission rate of permanent gases, air, oxygen, nitrogen and carbon dioxide and particularly useful for the permeability of CO2.
One test chamber, giving sensitive and highly linear with a measuring range of 0.1 – 100,000 cm3/m2/day. Internal software calculates rate of transmission, solubility and diffusion coefficients.

Principle
A preconditioned test specimen is clamped between the upper chamber and the lower chamber of a test cell. A vacuum is applied to the low-pressure lower chamber and then to the whole system.
When the specified degree of vacuum is reached, the lower test chamber is shut off and test gas of a selected pressure is fed to the upper high pressure test chamber.
Ensuring that a constant differential pressure (adjustable) is maintained across the specimen, under the gradient of differential pressure the test gas permeates from the high-pressure side to the low-pressure side. The pressure in the low-pressure side is monitored in real time and the rate of transmission is calculated.
