Package testing system for monitoring the seal integrity, burst strength and leaking in trays, bags, pouches, porous Tyvek bags, blisters and bottles. Ideal for packs not containing a modified atmosphere or for medical & pharma applications requiring IQ/OQ.

A very versatile benchtop system with single or multi-test capabilities – Burst, Leak, Creep, Creep to Fail, Creep & Leak, Creep & Burst and Creep, Leak & Burst.

Compliant with ASTM F-1140, F-2054, F-2095, F-2096, CFR Part 11 & ISO-11067

Two system variants available:

  • Lippke 4500 is PC controlled ideal for high volume testing or those requiring extended data analysis capability, data storage and documentation of test results. Audit trails made easy.
  • Lippke 4000 is a stand alone system incorporating the user interface within the test instrument.  Designed for production environments & routine lab testing.

The tests explained

  • Seal Strength Test – Increase the internal gas pressure inside the package and monitor when the package bursts. Compliant with ASTM F2954
  • Leak Test – Increase the internal gas pressure within the package to a predetermined level and hold the pressure for a set time. Any pressure loss indicates a leak, the extent of the pressure loss can be used to calculate the hole size. Compliant with ASTM F2095
  • Leak Size Determination – A selected pressure is built up in the package and is held at that  same level. By measuring the flow of gas into the pack that is required to keep a constant pressure in the pack is indicative of the size of a leak. In accordance with Hagen-Poiseuille law.
