Gurley Bending Stiffness Tester
Motorised with a digital readout, ideally suited for non wovens, textiles and medical devices. Specialist attachment for testing the stiffness of medical tubing such as a catheter.
The genuine Gurley bending resistance / stiffness tester is for measuring the bending resistance of a wide variety of materials including paper, paperboard, textiles, non-wovens, films, metal foils and tubing.
Fifteen different specimen sizes and a range of thicknesses up to 6mm can be tested. A complete set of augmenting weights ( 5, 25, 50 and 200 grams ) are supplied as standard to ensure a full range of bending resistances can be tested. A calibration strip is also included.
All flat sheet models meet TAPPI T-543 and ASTM D6125-97
Selectable units: Gurley units ( milligrams ), grams, cm, mNm.
Simple to operate with a high resolution encoder registering the position of pendulum.
Four models available for different applications:
- 4171D
- Digital bending resistance/stiffness tester with parallel clamp
- 4171E
- Digital bending resistance/stiffness tester with parallel clamp and RS-232 communication port
- 4171DT
- Original bending resistance tester with parallel clamp and tubing clamp
- 4171ET
- Digital bending resistance/stiffness tester with parallel clamp and tubing clamp
Using the precision tubing clamp assembly or the parallel clamp, the instrument can test rods & wires, monofilament, finished products, flat sheet materials to 6 mm thick tubing, oval , polygon or asymmetrical cross sections, single or multi-lumen to 15.5 mm OD
The clamp accommodates flat materials up to 50 mm wide and 6 mm
