The shelf life of some bread products such as Tortillas, Wraps, Naans, Baguettes, Pitta Breads and Bagels is commonly extended to up to six months by packing in Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP).

Typically a high concentration of carbon dioxide and a low concentration of oxygen in the pack, inhibits mould growth without the need to add preservatives or to freeze the product.
